Review:

A promising first release for this Australian six piece, 'Where Joy Exist, Despair Beckons' sees them showcasing their own frantic style of post hardcore, with some keys thrown over the top for good measure. It's immediately obvious that the keyboardist was working with some fairly basic gear, as only a small variety of basic piano and strings sounds are utilized, however it does blend well with the music and provide an extra layer of complexity. The vocals are a real highlight, with the vocalist displaying powerful clean singing, something all too rare in this genre. The various instruments don't seem to mesh quite right, timing wise, and production isn't the cleanest, however it's still extremely catchy music, offering more than your average post hardcore artist.
