Review:

I See Stars were pioneers in this style, and alongside bands such as Attack, Attack! they were among some of the first to introduce electronics to post hardcore. Although this particular style of pop like post hardcore is the subject of a large amount of criticism, I See Stars seem to have more credibility as musicians, writing stronger hooks and avoiding relying on the same old song structures. It's very danceable, positive sounding music, with plenty of mosh in amongst the chaos, and with electronics meshing in between the guitars, rather than showing off with fancy melody lines. And although the singer seems to only stick to one auto-tuned and painfully high octave, and listening to too much will literally drive you insane, it's still an impressive first album.
